Job Title: GIS Database Developer
Job Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Hours / Week: 40 / week
Job Description: Design, develop,
and deploy geospatial databases using ESRI and related RDBMS technologies.
Majority of work will involve the use of ESRI’s ArcGIS and
ArcSDE software; as well as, Oracle and SQL Server RDBMS. Applied
experience in the migration of ESRI coverage, shape file, and CAD
data into ArcSDE formats is required. Experience implementing ESRI
and other industry standard data models a plus. Contribute to the
completion of various enterprise GIS database and application development
projects.
Must have a comprehensive understanding of current
GIS and IT technologies, specifically ArcSDE and ArcGIS, as well
as have a proficiency in developing both Microsoft SQL Server and
Oracle RDBMS. Specific knowledge of the pipeline industry, natural
resource management, or the defense sector’s GIS requirements
is a plus. Demonstrated GIS project management experience; the
ability to communicate with both IT and domain specific experts;
have working knowledge of spatial data types and metadata; have
demonstrated geodatabase modeling expertise; and have experience
with geospatial data analysis, conversion, and projection with
ESRI products (ArcMap, ArcToolBox, ARC/INFO, etc) or other necessary
GIS tools, as well as ArcSDE database implementation, management,
and performance tuning.
Detail oriented and poses a professional attitude.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication, technical
and organizational skills. Must be able to travel. U.S. citizenship
required. Security clearance desirable.
Minimum Education: B.S. degree
Major Field of Study: Science,
engineering, or relevant field
Experience: 2-3 years of work
experience in GIS; or any combination of education and experience
which the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform
the job.
