Airborne GPS/IMU

Our team is an industry leader in the procurement of airborne GPS technology. To date, Photo Science has successfully completed more than 500 airborne GPS missions nationwide, utilizing the Leica Geosystems software for precise photo event determinations.

All of Photo Science’s aircraft are equipped with navigational GPS receivers, including the Trimble 2000 Approach Series. Additionally, all of our aircraft are also equipped for airborne GPS technologies, including the Zeiss T-Flight Navigational Flight Management System. As an integral part of our mission planning process, this flight management system allows us to digitize aerial flight lines and properly plan and capture precise photo centers at any predetermined tolerance. Once uploaded to the onboard navigation computer, the system sends a signal to fire the camera at the precise navigational determined coordinates. To further expand this capability, we have also added the Trimble 4000SSI Dual Frequency Receiver onboard the aircraft, and integrated this into the camera operator workstation to record the precise geodetic coordinates used in the post processing of photo centers.
